Centrifugal Pumps

Food Grade & Industrial Centrifugal Pumps

There are many, many variations within the centrifugal pump family.
Here are some of the ‘family members’ which we commonly supply.

Stainless Steel Centrifugal Pumps for CIP & Process Duties

Centrifugal CIP pump

Mainly used for everyday transfer of fluids and performing clean-in-place duties within the food, beverage and chemical industries. These pumps are easy to use and maintain due to minimal parts and simple design.

Stainless Steel Centrifugal Pumps for Hygienic Duties

Hygienic centrifugal pump

Developed for transferring fluids in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and chemical industries. These hygienic pumps are designed to meet EHEDG regulations for CIP and SIP cleaning and disinfecting processes.

Stainless Steel Self-Priming Centrifugal Pumps

Food grade self-priming pump

When a positive gravity feed of fluid is not available and you need the pump to lift liquid from a lower level, a self-priming pump is required. Ideal for handling fluids with entrained air & CIP return / scavenge duties.

Corrosion Resistant Plastic Centrifugal Process Pumps

Plastic centrifugal pump Someflu

Plastic centrifugal pumps constructed from plastics such as PP, PE, SOMEDUR®, UHMW-PE, PVDF, PFA, & PEEK. All parts are machined from a massive block of plastic. Designed to handle corrosive or abrasive fluids.

Water Booster Pumps and Pump Skids

Water booster pumps

Pumps for getting clean water in and getting waste & dirty water out of your buildings. Booster pumps and sets to ensure that your water capacity requirements are met and maintained at the pressure you need.

WATER BOOSTER PUMPS

Self-Priming Centrifugal Pumps for Suction Lift Duties

Self-priming best pump

Rugged self-priming pumps ideal for handling fluids with solids in suspension such as dirt, mud, sand, grit and other particles that are washed into and collected in sumps. Highly resistant to abrasive liquids and built to last.

SELF PRIMING PUMPS
FOOD GRADE CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS

Centrifugal pumps for high volume transfer of low viscosity fluids

Centrifugal pumps move liquids using kinetic energy via a rotating impeller or impellers and are ideal for high volume, low viscosity applications.

A centrifugal pump produces head and flow by increasing the velocity of a fluid through the pump via a rotating vane impeller.

The rotating impeller increases pressure and moves the fluid. The fluid enters the pump close to the rotating axis (or eye) of the impeller and enters the cavities between the vanes of the impeller.

As the pump impeller rotates, the fluid flows outward from the central axis into a chamber where it is discharged. As the fluid leaves the the axis of the impeller, a low pressure area is created and this draws more liquid into the pump inlet.

Typical Applications for Food Grade Centrifugal Pumps

Food grade centrifugal pumps are constructed from stainless-steel and commonly used to pump thin, food grade fluids like water, beer, fruit juice and food oils like sunflower oil, rapeseed oil, vegetable oil etc..

Cleaning-in-place processes, or CIP as it is commonly referred to, typically use stainless-steel centrifugal pumps to send hot caustic cleaning fluids down pipework and through pipeline items like pumps, valves etc. at high volumes and high velocities to scour and sanitise complete production lines.

As well as food grade centrifugal pumps, we also supply industrial centrifugal pumps in many forms and materials including cast-iron and corrosion resistant plastics.
